A Missions-Minded Community

At Youth With A Mission Wollongong we are passionate about the Great Commission – to go into all nations and make disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:16-20).  We aim to cultivate a community atmosphere on our campus from which we disciple others. We believe that putting Christ first in our relationships provides the right foundation from which we take the Good News to communities who have yet to hear about Jesus.

Our Focus: 1/3 of the World’s Population

There are more than 2.2 billion people in the world today who have little or no access to the Good News of Jesus. The vast majority of these people live in a region that is referred to as the 10/40 Window, stretching from North Africa right across the Middle East and Central Asia to South East Asia.

Our Way Forward

To see communities transformed, we need to communicate a holistic message of God’s Kingdom. We are constantly seeking new and creative ways to demonstrate God’s love and make an impact in this world

The Sound of the Sea

Wollongong (pronounced ‘wool-on-gong’, Aboriginal for ‘the sound of the sea’) is the 9th largest city in Australia and is located a little over an hour south of Sydney. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, we are blessed with some of the most breathtaking coastline in the world with beautiful white sand beaches and majestic rain forest.

The Bigger Picture

Youth With A Mission International

Founded in 1960, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Jesus followers from many cultures, age groups, and traditions, all dedicated to serving throughout the world. We unite in the common purpose “to know God and to make Him known”. YWAM currently operates in more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000.

University of the Nations

With the growth of YWAM, training and higher education programs were being developed in our centres around the globe. This eventually led to the founding of the University of the Nations (UofN) in 1988. Today, the UofN offers various degree programs in seven different faculties with course locations in 160 countries. The UofN is not registered/accredited as a university in Australia, however all Institute for the Nations (IforN) courses may be eligible for transfer credits with the UofN.

YWAM Training

The YWAM Training is the Australian expression of the UofN. YWAM Training is a registered training organisation which offers accredited and non-accredited training programs. The qualifications offered range from Certificate II to Advanced Diploma within the Australia Qualifications Framework.
