God Cares About the Individual

Intercession is a time that we as a base come together with a topic, usually a people group that has little or no opportunity to hear about Jesus. We spend time seeking God and praying out the things He puts on our hearts for them. It looks different every time.

Together We Go

At ten years of age, I was filled with excitement and curiosity, as my family sensed God leading us to take a step of faith into the new and unknown. That expressed itself as a signing up for Discipleship Training School with YWAM.

I had never met anyone from a different country before YWAM, so I was thrilled to interact with people from all over the world who came for DTS. I found myself particularly drawn by their accents and stories of their home countries.

Is My English Good Enough?

In February 2016, I applied to do a Discipleship Training School here in Wollongong, Australia. English is not my first language but I grew up learning it in school. Some years ago I did short-term outreaches where the main language was English, but I never lived for six months in an English environment and I had never had a lecture in English. Even the word ‘lecture’ sounded weird, unfamiliar and complicated.

Crossing the Border

The miraculous story of a family reuniting with their son at a music concert had me on the edge of my seat. The cup of tea in my hands grew cold and the snacks on the coffee table were forgotten as my ears craned to hear. Continue reading

“Transform my heart, oh God.”

Steven recently completed his Discipleship Training School with us in 2016, and has some valuable insight to share with the world about his own experience. Most of which is focused on key aspects of his life that God has gently addressed to bring Steven into an even deeper relationship with Him.

Are you Willing?

It is all too easy to fall into the downward spiral of doubt and confusion, but it is often the moment when we take a risk that creates space for God to reveal himself to us. Miranda’s journey of coming to do a Discipleship Training School is a great example of how God looks at our heart and calls us despite our emotions and the circumstances around us.

Maybe God is asking you the simple question: “Are you willing?”

Rest for the Strivers

I came into my Discipleship Training School (DTS) with a preconceived idea of who God was. He was kind of like the Wizard of Oz character, His holiness always kept behind the curtain, watching me from a screen and making little check marks in red ink when I stepped off the yellow brick road.

Using Media to Bring Hope

My Dad and I were sitting at Lake Thun in Switzerland. It was towards the end of my home visit and I wanted to spend some time with my dad sharing my dreams and visions. My Wife and I had not fully decided if we were going to run a media focused Discipleship Training School (DTS).

My Own Flame

When I first arrived in Kolkata, India, it was close to midnight, I was exhausted, sore from traveling, and anxious about settling in. I had been looking forward to outreach since before I had even arrived in Australia to start my Discipleship Training School. When I found out we were going to India, I was overjoyed. Courageous Hope

I was 18 when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Two months after her diagnosis she passed away in November of 2012. Shocked and heartbroken, I began earnestly questioning God – Was it my fault? Could we have done something differently? Why take her and not me? Why put me through this? Why rip my world apart? Where was He in it all? Continue reading
