Birth Educator and Doula Seminar

Hundreds of women and thousands of babies die worldwide, every single day, from preventable pregnancy and birth complications. Their deaths are avoidable and unnecessary.  Much is being done to reduce these statistics but there is still much more for us to do. We invite you to join us in the Doula and Birth Educator Seminar at YWAM Wollongong to increase your awareness of maternal health worldwide and grow your ability to make a difference.

A Doula (or Birth Partner) is a trained companion who gives emotional and physical support to a woman in labour.  This training seminar is suited to those wanting to empower women to have safer birth experiences.  A Doula’s presence empowers a woman to make informed decisions about herself and her baby during the birth process.   It also reduces the need for unnecessary interventions that can negatively affect mother and baby.

A Birth Educator teaches people what to expect during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. Education is powerful and can transform us and our communities, giving women the value, dignity and encouragement they need to live life to the full.  This Birth Educator portion of the seminar dives deeper into the doula training topics with a focus on preparing you to educate others in a multi-cultural setting.

This three week training will engage and equip you in the global effort towards creating safer experiences for mothers and their babies.
