FAQ

Where are you located?

We are located in beautiful Port Kembla, a suburb of Wollongong. We’re right on the coast and only a couple of hours from Sydney! Learn more about our location here.

What is your vision?

We exist to see lives and communities transformed by the Good News of Jesus. We focus on seeing that Good News spread in the places of the world where it’s known the least. Read more about our vision here.

Where do you travel to?

YWAM Wollongong focuses on an area of the world called the 10/40 Window which stretches from North Africa to East Asia. You can read more about where we go here.

What kind of training do you run?

All of our programs equip people to be a part of God’s work in the world – bringing transformation through Jesus Christ. But what that looks like is very diverse: It could be cross-cultural missions, community development, or even support in childbirth. Check out the programs we offer here.

How many people are a part of YWAM Wollongong?

Our numbers vary depending on the season, but right now we have about 30 staff as well as the students who have joined us for the quarter.

Where are your staff from?

Our staff are from all over! We have a mix of Aussies and international staff from different countries.

What denomination is YWAM?

YWAM is an interdenominational mission, welcoming staff and students from all sorts of denominational backgrounds. We are held together by shared beliefs and values, which you can read about here.

Is YWAM in other places as well?

Yes! There are YWAM locations all over the world, including numerous locations across Australia. If you’re interested in exploring YWAM elsewhere on the globe, check out ywam.org to see what’s happening!
