A close-knit community
With a maximum of 20 students per DTS, your leaders know your name, your story, and what you're walking through. It stays small on purpose — a tight community that does life together.
Nationally accredited
You'll finish with a Certificate III in Discipleship (10802NAT) — recognised training that counts for something well beyond the experience itself.
Twenty minutes from the beach
The Port Kembla base sits on the South Coast of Australia, about 90 minutes south of Sydney and a short trip from patrolled swimming beaches. You'll train in one of the most beautiful coastal regions in the country.
Christ-centred community
This isn't a program you attend — it's a community you become part of. Meals together, worship together, outreach together. The relationships you build here tend to last.
DTS is divided into two phases. You'll start in Wollongong, Australia, discovering God's character during the lecture phase, before travelling overseas for a hands-on outreach. Together, they create a genuinely life-changing experience.
Lecture Phase: Deepen Your Faith in Port Kembla, Wollongong
The Lecture Phase blends classroom teaching, small group activities, personal reflection, community living, and practical service — all towards the goal of becoming more like Jesus and representing him in the nations.

Outreach Phase: Cross-Cultural Global Missions
During outreach, students spend their time intentionally serving those with little or no access to the good news of Jesus — whether it's teaching English, working alongside long-term workers, jumping into kids' ministry, or serving in other practical ways.
Our Focus
YWAM Wollongong sends teams into the 10/40 Window — the stretch from North Africa to East Asia where the name of Jesus is known the least. We go where the need is greatest.

Accreditation
The DTS is offered as an accredited course recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework, registered as Certificate III in Discipleship (code 10802NAT). YWAM Training Wollongong is also recognised with YWAM International's University of the Nations (U of N), and most courses offered are recognised internationally within the UofN.
